Original Photograph of Something Beautiful

I took this photo when exploring the Rocks and Harbour Bridge area. The beauty of the photo is created from the light and shadows, which focuses the image. The photo also highlights the contrasting shapes of the corrugated iron roves of the Rocks and the tiled, shell-like shapes of the Opera House.

Great Piece of Architecture

The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain was designed by Los Angles architect, Frank O. Gehry. It was the first building to utilise computer software developed by the French aerospace industry called CATIA. CATIA allowed designs to be modeled using surfaces as opposed to polygons. The building is cladded in titanium, stone and glass and was part of a project to regenerate the city of Bilbao.

Best Piece of Creative Work

I completed this outfit as part of my Major Textiles Project for my HSC. Russian textiles and culture inspired the dress and hat ensemble. The fabrics are influenced by Russia's cold climate, the ornate embroidery and beading by the interiors of religious cathedrals and the structure of the garment by military uniforms. I constructed the entire garment and it includes both hand and machine sewing.
